About Us

Shakespeare Club Members

The Shakespeare Club of Pasadena is a vibrant, community-oriented, and philanthropic organization dedicated to making a positive impact. We are a group of interested and interesting individuals who may join for different reasons but stay for the friendships they form. The Club offers opportunities to explore diverse interests, develop new skills, and grow personally. Our members bring unique talents, passions, and experiences — and through shared purpose and connection, many lifelong friendships are built here.

Our history

The Shakespeare Club of Pasadena was founded in 1888 as a literary study group devoted to the works of William Shakespeare. As one of the earliest cultural and civic organizations in Pasadena, the Club quickly grew beyond its literary roots to become an active force in community service and philanthropy. Over the decades, members have supported countless charitable efforts, arts programs, and educational initiatives. Today, the Shakespeare Club continues to honor its rich history while embracing new opportunities to serve and connect within the community.

Our mission

Honoring our rich history, the Shakespeare Club of Pasadena provides opportunities for friendship, enrichment, and meaningful community impact through service, culture, and connection.
